This vintage of Two Angels Sauvignon Blanc was hand sorted twice; once before de-stemming and once after. Then the wine went through extended cold fermentation (three weeks at 50F) to preserve the natural, vibrant fruit characteristics of the grape. Midway through fermentation, the wine was racked, resulting in a wine that displays a complex blend of melon, citrus blossom, fennel, and honeysuckle

It pours a pale gold, and grapefruit, pineapple and fresh flower aromas leap from the glass. On the palate a crisp, fresh entry is balanced by succulent ripe fruit flavors of peach, grapefruit and quince, culminating in a fresh, lingering finish. It’s great with a variety of lighter dishes and cheeses – or just for sipping by starlight.

Made by Haridimos Hatzidakis from Assyrtico, a local grape, on the volcanic island of Santorini. His first vintage was bottled in 1997, and he has a fine reputation. Crisp and dry with grapey aromas and mineral complexity.

Simply a great wine. This Roero shows a beautiful and intense ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, little transparency. The nose reveals personality with intense, clean, pleasing, refined and elegant aromas which start with good hints of black cherry, plum and violet followed by intense and good aromas of blueberry, blackberry, tobacco, thyme, licorice, menthol, vanilla and pleasing hints of black pepper and cinnamon. In the mouth has excellent correspondence to the nose, a slightly tannic and pleasingly round attack, however well balanced by alcohol, full body, intense flavors, good tannins, agreeable. The finish is very persistent with long and good flavors of black cherry, plum and blueberry. A great wine.
